About Primera Technology

Primera Technology, Inc.Primera Technology, Inc., is a manufacturer of optical media storage products and labeling solutions. The Plymouth, Minnesota-based company was founded in 1998 and has grown to become one of the major players in the optical media storage and printing business.

Primera's early days as a printer manufacturer began with products such as the Composer, which was an optical disc duplicator. Later models such as the Signature disc printer and Inscripta thermal printer gave the company the experience and capital it needed to step up and make their mark on the disc publishing industry.

Primera put themselves on the map with the release of the Bravo Disc Publisher in 2002. The Bravo was not the first machine to automatically copy and print a disc, but it was the smallest and the most affordable at the time. With a 25-disc capacity and an optional built-in CD burner, this machine was a real game-changer.

The follow up came in 2004 when Primera released the Bravo II, which was available as both a print-only machine and as a combination CD/DVD printer-burner. The Bravo II featured a standard 25-disc capacity that could be expanded to 50 discs with an optional Kiosk Mode kit. An autoloading platform known as the ADL-MAX was also available, which increased the machine's capacity to a massive 325 discs.

Primera Bravo ProBarely larger than a standard desktop printer, the Bravo II really raised the bar among disc publishers. It featured reliable robotics, easy-to-use software, and most important of all: it was affordable!

For the first time, small businesses, churches, schools, and other organizations had a practical way of producing custom discs quickly and easily. The Bravo II was retired from production in 2010 and replaced by the Bravo Pro Xi, which features a larger disc capacity and faster robotics.

Primera has also expanded into the Blu-ray storage market with products such as the Bravo XR, XRP, and XRn. These "extra rugged" models are designed for multi-user and networked environments and are powered by Primera's PT Publisher network software. The XR models feature standard CD/DVD capabilities with optional Blu-ray versions available.

Primera is also known for their line of label printers including the flagship LX-series, which can print labels in full color up to 8.25" wide. Primera label printers are used in manufacturing and production operations as product labels for boxes, bottles, and other consumer products.
